What's the opportunity? (Role)

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Network Engineer to join our dynamic AV team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge and experience in designing, implementing, and managing converged networks. This role requires expertise in VLANs, wireless technology, and multicast networks.

What will you be doing? (Responsibilities)

Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructures, ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability
Configure and manage VLANs to segment and secure network traffic
Oversee and optimize wireless network deployments, ensuring robust coverage and performance
Implement and manage multicast networks to support various applications, including IPTV and AVoIP
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate and support audio-visual equipment within the network
Troubleshoot and resolve network issues, minimizing downtime and ensuring seamless operation
Monitor network performance and conduct regular assessments to identify areas for improvement
Document network configurations, changes, and procedures to maintain accurate records
Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies to recommend and implement innovative solutions

What do you need? (Requirements)

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
Professional certifications: Cisco CCNA and CompTIA (Network+, Security+, or equivalent)
Excellent understanding of converged networks and VLANs
Good understanding of wireless technology, including Wi-Fi standards, design, and troubleshooting
Experience with multicast networks, including implementation and management
Familiarity with IPTV, Audio Video over IP (AVoIP), and audio visual equipment integration is highly desirable
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Experience with scripting and automation for network tasks
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously

Preferred Skills

Experience with network management tools and monitoring systems
Knowledge of network security best practices and implementation
Experience with scripting and automation for network tasks
Familiarity with cloud networking solutions
Ability to create low level designs for network integration
Experience with Multicast centric networks with QoS

Practicalities

Salary: Depending on Experience
Location: Head Office (Ashbourne, Co. Meath), Hybrid, client sites, and occasional overseas travel required.
